Lloydminster, AB/SK – A collaboration between the City of Lloydminster, the Public Art Advisory Committee and local artists has resulted in a series of captivating concrete/fibreglass face sculptures that now grace the community. Coined the ‘Faces of Lloydminster,’ this project reflects the vibrant diversity of Lloydminster’s artistic community and is a testament to the City’s dedication to promoting artistic expression and fostering community pride.
Central to the project’s realization was the ‘Faces of Lloydminster’ proposal presented by Mick Classen to the Public Art Advisory Committee in June 2022. This visionary project involved a series of face sculptures designed and painted by local artists, reflecting the vibrant diversity of Lloydminster’s artistic community.
Included in the design and development of the pieces are Brandi Hofer, Michelle Lake and Harwell Teves, who have combined their talents to create an enchanting visual narrative that resonates deeply with the spirit of the community while sharing a glimpse into their inner self.
As the sculptures take their place within the community at 59 Avenue and 29 Street, the City invites residents and visitors to explore this vibrant celebration of local artistry.
