Lloydminster, AB/SK – A significant liquid asphalt spill on 52 Street has forced a temporary road closure between 50 Avenue and 62 Avenue.
The Lloydminster Fire Department responded to the incident late Sunday evening to assist with shutting down the roadway.
The City has confirmed the spill was from a vehicle operated by an industrial service company. Measures are being taken to mitigate environmental damage and limit the amount of material entering the stormwater system.
There is no risk to the public. Currently, there is no estimated timeline for the re-opening of 52nd Street.
