LPSD Launches The Pursuit School of Sport: A Game-Changing Opportunity for Student-Athletes
Lloydminster, January 7, 2025– The Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD) is thrilled to announce the opening of The Pursuit School of Sport in September 2025. Designed to meet the unique needs of elite and aspiring high-level student-athletes, the new school will provide a flexible learning environment that balances academic excellence with athletic pursuits.
Located at 4111-48 Ave, The Pursuit School of Sport will serve students in grades 6-12, offering a tailored academic model that accommodates training schedules, competitions, and travel
commitments. By collaborating with local community sports organizations, the school aims to empower students to excel academically while pursuing their athletic dreams.
“The Pursuit School of Sport represents an incredible opportunity for student-athletes in our region,” said Jason Neville, Director of Education for LPSD. “This school is all about balance,
supporting students in achieving academic success while providing the flexibility they need to excel in their sport. We proudly offer a school that celebrates student-athletes’ dedication, discipline, and passion.”
Key features of The Pursuit School of Sport include:
● Flexible Academic Schedules: Customized learning plans that align with individual training and competition schedules. Combines face-to-face instruction, online modules, and self-directed learning.
● Four-Day School Week: All required instructional minutes are covered Monday through Thursday, leaving Fridays open for travel and competitions.
● Supportive School Culture: A small, close-knit school environment that prioritizes academic achievement while celebrating athletic accomplishments.
● Collaboration with Community Sports Organizations: Sport-specific training is provided by partners like Lloydminster Athletics, who will work collaboratively with the school to devise and deliver a training schedule for each student-athlete.
“We are excited to announce that beginning September of the upcoming 25/26 season we have formed a working relationship with the Lloydminster Public School Division. The Pursuit School
Of Sport promises to provide an educational framework that is structured to further benefit athlete’s lifestyles as well as their educational needs,” said General Manager Ambrose Firkus of
the Lloydminster Athletics.
