Kitscoty RCMP make arrest for robbery with a firearm
Kitscoty, Alta. – On Jan. 11, 2025, at approximately 11:19 a.m., Kitscoty RCMP were notified of a robbery involving a firearm at a residence located on Range Road 34 in the County of Vermilion River.
The investigation revealed that three individuals, traveling in a stolen vehicle, broke into a residence and stole firearms from within. While the suspects were at the property, a third party arrived, at which point one of the suspects pointed a firearm at them and stole their vehicle. The stolen vehicle was equipped with GPS tracking, which led officer’s to a residence in Lloydminster, Alta. where two suspects were arrested.
Tanis Nicotine, a 29-year-old resident of Lloydminster, has been charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with firearm
- Break and enter with intent- residence
- Theft under $5000
- Weapons possession contrary to order
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Tanis was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 21, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion, Alta.
Lacey Donnally, a 21-year-old resident of Lloydminster, has been charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with firearm
- Break and enter with intent – residence
- Theft under $5000
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Lacey was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 3, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion.
The third suspect remained at large with an active warrant for his arrest. Today, police successfully located and arrested the individual.
Shane Donnally, a 46-year-old resident of Hillmond, Sask., has been charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with firearm
- Break and enter with intent- resident
- Theft under $5000
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Weapons possession contrary to order x2
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with probation order.
Shane is currently awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.

The accused could have easily driven away but instead they decided to bring firearms into the equation, turning a property crime into a very serious and traumatizing offence that is not common to this area” said Cpl. Their support and collaboration were instrumental in bringing these suspects to justice”
