Lloydminster, AB/SK— The City of Lloydminster is installing ‘Winter Maintenance Activity – No Parking’ signs along Priority 2 route roadways. These new signs are an extension of the City’s Winter Roadway Maintenance Policy, approved by Council in 2023.
The signage is being installed along Priority 2 routes throughout the city, with installation underway as of March 2025. This initiative aims to inform residents of parking bans that may be in effect only during winter roadway maintenance, specifically from October 31 to March 31, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Parking bans will be implemented for snow plowing Priority 1 and 2 roadways (when there is 5 cm or more of snow accumulation) or during full residential snow removal operations. Vehicles found parked on these roadways during winter maintenance activities may be towed at the owner’s expense. Note, signs indicating winter maintenance will continue to be placed at entrances to subdivisions prior to a full residential snow removal.
Additional information resources for residents and businesses includes window placards on vehicles parked on Priority 1 and 2 routes, social media updates, news releases, and information on the City of Lloydminster webpage.
