Lloydminster RCMP conducts arrests after traffic stop
Lloydminster, SK — On Oct. 30, 2025, members of the Lloydminster RCMP conducted a traffic stop within the city limits which led to the arrest of two individuals. During the stop, officers observed evidence consistent with offences under the Excise Act and arrested both the driver and passenger for being in possession of unstamped tobacco. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the following items:
- Approximately 13 grams of cocaine;
- Approximately 23 grams of fentanyl;
- A quantity of Canadian currency;
- A 410 shotgun with a defaced serial number; and
- Shotgun ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, the following two were arrested:
- Riley Lawlor (33), a resident of Regina, SK, has been charged with:
o Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2);
o Possession of a weapon contrary to order;
o Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
o Possession of firearm knowing possession is unauthorized; and
o Failure to comply with release order.
- Tanner McIvor (20), a resident of Gravelbourg, SK, has been charged with:
o Unsafe storage of firearms;
o Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
o Possession of firearm in a vehicle; and
o Failure to comply with probation order.
Lawlor and McIvor were brought before a justice of the peace, with Lawlor being remanded into custody and McIvor being released on conditions. Lawlor is to appear before the Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 3, 2025, while McIvor is to appear before the same court on Nov. 17, 2025.
“This seizure demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the Lloydminster RCMP to remove illegal drugs and firearms from our community,” said Sgt. Christopher Byford of the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment. “Our members remain focused on proactive enforcement efforts that enhance public safety.”
