Lloydminster RCMP conducts arrest after firearms complaint
Lloydminster, Alta. – On Nov. 4, 2025, at 5:57 a.m., Lloydminster RCMP responded to a firearms complaint. Lloydminster RCMP General Duty members, with the assistance from Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services, and the Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section, attended the scene. Upon arrival, police located a victim with non-life-threatening injuries. Preliminary information determined that the incident was targeted. At approximately 8:29 a.m., a lone suspect was located and arrested without incident. The suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded shotgun and extra ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Catlin Heathen, a resident of Lloydminster, has been charged with:
- Discharge firearm with intent;
- Pointing a firearm;
- Careless use of a firearm;
- Carry a concealed weapon;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- Possession of a firearm knowing possession is not authorized;
- Fail to comply with a probation order;
- Possession of ammunition while prohibited (x3); and
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited (x3).
Heathen was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 10, 2025.
Lloydminster RCMP is not looking for any other suspects.
