SASKATOON (November 21, 2025) — Jacintha and David Fischer won $168,584.80 on LOTTO 6/49… shortly after celebrating their 50th anniversary!
The Macklin couple said they were checking a few tickets in-store that they’d been holding onto when they discovered the win.
“I thought it was $1,600 and then I looked at it again and thought it was $16,000!” laughed David. “When I realized it was $168,584.80, I was stunned.”
“I showed my wife but didn’t tell her,” he continued. “She looked at the ticket like, ‘Huh?’ because she didn’t have her glasses on!”
Once Jacintha got her glasses on and saw the win properly, she was astounded.
“I didn’t believe it,” Jacintha laughed. “I still don’t believe it now!”
The pair just celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends and said they are excited to enter their new year of marriage with the extra winnings.
“We usually take a trip somewhere,” said David. “So, we’re thinking about that.”
“David also wants to build a mancave,” added Jacintha. “Just a place to fix things.”
“It will feel so good to finally do these things without [stress]!” she smiled.
The Fischers purchased their winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket from Shoppers Drug Mart at Midtown Shopping Centre Unit 50 – 201 1 Ave. South in Saskatoon. They won their prize by matching five out of six Classic Draw numbers plus the Bonus number selected in the October 22 LOTTO 6/49 draw: 2, 4, 7, 41, 45, 46, and Bonus 13
