Lloydminster RCMP noise complaint turns into sexual assault investigation
Lloydminster, Alta. – On Dec. 5, 2025, around 3:47 a.m., Lloydminster RCMP responded to a noise complaint at a local hotel. Upon arrival, officers spoke with someone in the lobby, who told them they had been sexually assaulted by individuals in the hotel. RCMP officers located the room and arrested three suspects within. A search warrant was then executed with assistance from Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section and Lloydminster Forensic Identification Section.
As a result of the investigation, Karan Joshi (39), Ghanshyam Verma (22), both residents of Lloydminster, and Joginder Momi (45), a resident of Edmonton, were charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.
The three accused were brought before a justice of the peace and initially remanded into custody but have since been released on conditions, to appear before the Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 12, 2026.
