Maidstone RCMP investigating fatal collision

On August 10, 2026 at approximately 12:00 p.m., Maidstone RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway #16 and Range Road 3273, west of Marshall, SK.
Investigation determined an SUV and car collided. The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 78-year-old female from Maidstone, SK. Her family has been notified.
The driver and sole occupant of the car was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
While officers were responding to the initial collision and conducting traffic control in the area, a second collision occurred on Highway #16. Investigators determined a truck and motorcycle collided. The involved individuals were assessed by EMS at the scene and did not report serious injuries to police. The driver of the truck was issued a ticket for following too closely.
Highway #16 was temporarily closed but has since been re-opened. Officers thank everyone who assisted at the scene.

As of August 11 at 8:30 a.m., Saskatchewan RCMP reports there have been 55 fatal collisions with 68 fatalities on roadways policed by the Saskatchewan RCMP in 2026.
