Lloydminster RCMP advises of heavy police presence – update
Lloydminster, Alta. – On Sept. 21, 2026, around 11:09 a.m., Lloydminster RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of shots fired on 50 avenue, near 47 street, in Lloydminster. Fire and EMS also arrived on scene and began life-saving measures on the victim, who was later declared deceased on scene. RCMP have confirmed that the suspect is still at large but police believe it was a targeted incident. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) were called in and have taken carriage of the investigation.
Alberta RCMP MCU is requesting public assistance in this investigation. Anyone with footage of the area around 50 avenue, near 47 street, between 10:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., or who has information on this investigation, is asked to please contact the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment at 780-808-8300.
