Turtleford RCMP: two arrested after cocaine seizure

Turtleford RCMP arrested an adult male and adult female after seizing cocaine during a traffic stop.
On September 24, 2026 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Turtleford RCMP were conducting proactive patrols near Highway #21 in the RM of Frenchman Butte. Officers observed a truck driving on Highway #21 with no lights on. Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, police determined the driver was prohibited from driving and noticed drug trafficking paraphernalia in plain view. The driver and both passengers were arrested. While searching the vehicle, officers seized and located 40 grams of suspected cocaine, cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
As a result of investigation, 32-year-old Colby Riguidel from the RM of Frenchman Butte, SK and 45-year-old Christine Russel of St. Walburg, SK were each charged with:
- one count, possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, Section 4(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Riguidel is additionally charged with:
- one count, operation while prohibited, Section 320.18(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
- two counts, fail to comply with release order conditions, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code.
The third occupant of the vehicle was released without charge.
They are scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on September 28, 2026 (Information #90481871).
