OCTOBER 12, 2023 – Lloydminster, AB/SK- Today Lloydminster and District Co-op (Lloyd Co-op) announced their expansion into the liquor and spirits business.
Located as part of the new Co-op development on the corner of 12 Street and 50 Avenue in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Lloydminster and District Co-op Southview Liquor and Spirits Store will offer an array of wine, beer, and spirits. The multi-level retail space will feature an indoor/outdoor area for tastings, a growler bar, and more.
Lloyd Co-op CEO Peter Brown shared, “With this development, we’re stepping forward and expanding our offerings to local members. The car wash component, and now liquor and spirits store will offer high quality products and services with the customer service touch that sets us apart. We’re excited to be part of the south corridor and can’t wait to showcase a unique experience for our community.”
In addition to wine, beer, and spirits, the 7,000+ square foot retail store will feature:
-A multi-seat, multi-season tasting area for special events, including sampling nights.
-A large walk-in cooler featuring a selection of local, national, and imported beer.
-A growler bar that’s both economically and environmentally friendly, allowing Co-op members to purchase a reusable glass container, fill straight from the tap with an employee assistance, then seal and enjoy.
Lloydminster and District Co-op’s Southview Liquor and Spirits Store is located next to the new Co-op Car Wash. Each site will feature its own entrance and will offer unique hours of operation. Collectively, the development will create up to 15 new jobs. The project broke ground in spring 2023 and is set to open in late winter/early spring 2024.
