Kagan Kneen’s “Running for Shelter” Reaches Lloydminster – Community BBQ Event TOMORROW
Lloydminster, AB/SK – August 12, 2024 – Tomorrow marks a significant milestone in Kagan Kneen’s extraordinary 1,279 kilometer run across Alberta and Saskatchewan to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter. As Kagan runs through Lloydminster, the community is invited to join in the celebration and support this
vital cause at a special BBQ event.

This event is more than just a BBQ—it’s a chance for the Lloydminster community to come together and support a cause that directly impacts the lives of our most vulnerable residents. With your help, we can raise the awareness and funds needed to build a new 60-bed shelter that will better serve the needs of those in our community who are experiencing homelessness.
Kagan Kneen, Executive Director of the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter, began his “Running for Shelter” journey on August 1 from Big Berland, AB. His goal is to raise $300,000 by running 50-60 kilometers daily, ending in Wroxton, SK. The funds raised will help build a new shelter with separate dorms for those working on sobriety and those still facing addiction
and mental health challenges.
“The Lloydminster community has always shown tremendous generosity and support, and this BBQ is an opportunity for us to come together and make a real difference,” said Kagan Kneen. “I’m grateful for every step taken, every dollar raised, and every bit of support shown by the people of Lloydminster.”
