Lloydminster RCMP advise of heavy police presence – Update
Lloydminster, Alta.. – On Feb. 20 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Lloydminster RCMP located a stolen vehicle that was occupied. During the interaction between officers and the vehicle’s occupants, a confrontation occurred, resulting in an officer discharging their service firearm. The vehicle fled the scene and, a short time later, collided with a residence. Officers then arrested two individuals. No injuries have been reported from the incident.
Jeffrey Gervais, a 31-year-old resident of Lloydminster, has been charged with the following offences:
- Assault on police officer with weapon
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Flight from peace officer
- Resist peace officer
- Fail to comply with release order condition x2
- Operation while prohibited
Jeffrey Gervais was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2025, at the Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
Treston Cataract, a 28-year-old resident of Lloydminster, has been charged with the following offences:
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Resist peace officer
Treston was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order. He is scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 11, 2025, at the Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
Due do the discharge of an officers service firearm, ASIRT was consulted and it was deemed within their scope. However, ASIRT has directed the RCMP to investigate
