Cenovus Energy Hub presents Sound Check: The first live music event at the new state-of-the-art facility Free, all-ages community event features local artists Jordyn Pollard
and Dirt Rich Band on Dec. 4
Lloydminster, AB/SK – Cenovus Energy Hub is making history by hosting its first-ever live music event, Sound Check, on Thursday, December 4, 2025. This free, all-ages community celebration will feature local artists Jordyn Pollard and the Dirt Rich Band, giving residents a first look at what large-scale entertainment will be like at the region’s newest premier venue.
Sound Check marks a milestone for Lloydminster and surrounding communities. The event showcases the Hub’s capabilities as an entertainment destination, meaning residents don’t have to travel to see big shows anymore.
“This show is an essential part of testing the new facility in preparation for the big-name acts we will be hosting in 2026. Sound Check lets us test the systems, train the team, and run through the logistics of large-scale concerts,” said Don Bowey, Manager, Cenovus Energy Hub & Arenas. “Best of all, we get to host a free event for the whole community to join.”
The event will feature two 45-minute sets from accomplished regional artists. Jordyn Pollard, a Lloydminster native whose career launched at age 18 with the chart-topping single “Back To Us,” brings her signature country-pop sound that has drawn comparisons to Kelsea Ballerini and Taylor Swift. The Dirt Rich Band, multiple Alberta Country Music Association nominees who have shared stages with Brett Kissel, Gord Bamford, and George Canyon, will deliver their award-winning country sound to the Hub stage.
